Confidence with Computers Clients

Managing Directors
It is vital in this day and age that the boss knows what is going on within their company, so much information is passed via email, internally and externally, and for a boss to keep on top of things it is important that they are kept part of this loop.

Case Study

George is the managing director of a major investment company based in Central London.  An absolute genius but he knew nothing about computers!  But he needed to know; otherwise he was in danger of being left out of the loop on too many things.  In order to maintain control it was essential that he gained an element of understanding.

I specifically spent time teaching him to use the email/contact management software Microsoft Outlook, so that he could pick up emails, respond to them, open, amend and send attachments.  I have taught him to add contacts to his personal address book, as well as access the office shared contacts file.  His secretary is very grateful because I have taught him how to use the Calendar, and is now able to keep a much closer eye on him!   He is now able to easily open up the main filing system and find all documents relating to specific projects – his staff are all cursing me as he keeps checking up on what they are all doing!

I asked him why he chose Confidence with Computers – he told me how, when they first got their system, the company sent all the staff on a one day intensive training course on using Outlook.  The training took them into areas that none of the staff would ever use, while spending just the briefest of time on the basics.

By having one-to-one lessons, George is able to understand why he should need to know something and progress at his own rate.

Although he is my main client within the company, I have sat with new staff members to help them become familiar with their system, and helped resolve computer issues with existing staff.
